Press / Reviews

Praise for "Curse For The Commander": Here’s some searing panoramic dust storm countrified rock from Original Cowards, a trio from Northampton, MA whose self-proclaimed influences include Dinosaur Jr., Neil Young and Crazy Horse, sacred herbs, garage and psych, fuzz, The Who, and thunder. They live up to those lofty aspirations on ‘Curse For The Commander’, a seven minute track that rumbles, sways and lumbers along with paint-peeling solos and a bedrock rhythm section.” - Chris Hamilton

Doubtful Sounds

"Very chill rock track with a nice retro vibe to it!" Praise for Curse For the Commander” - F. Sun

Fuzzy Sun

Praise for the latest album, Country Club Creeps: "Combining elements that recall Neil Young, the Rolling Stones, Dinosaur Jr, Wilco and other rootsy bands, Original Cowards offers a healthy dose of indie-rock sturm und drang, with guitar-heavy tunes that mine the zeitgeist of our alienated age and probe the vagaries of love."” - Steve Pfarrer

The Daily Hampshire Gazette

Praise for the song Country Club Creeps “The core trio plays with relentless energy on the title track, while guest Andy Bosse sprays fiery lead guitar lines over everything to make it all burn hotter. The musicians lock into the groove here so tightly that they somehow manage to extend the song to nearly 6 1/2 minutes, but it never feels labored or overlong — it actually goes by in a flash, before fading out and combusting back into 20 seconds or so of crackling noise.” - Eric Danton
